covers the large blocks constituting the lower part and the foundations of the enclosure wall. Observation: the "filling" of small blocks between the two faces always stops at the level of the top of the blocks levelling the top of the wall as if to provide a platform. Probably on this stood the wall proper in brick. The bricks have disappeared, have been "melted" by the water of the river which rose and flooded the wall. Yet there remains a reddish earth with white calcareous "points" which seem to be the remains. The alluvium covering the lower body of the stone wall show that the water passed over the wall and therefore washed it and deprived it of its superstructure.
