Dear very honoured Prof. Schaeffer,

During your last stay in Mainz I promised you for June the manuscript of my report on the restoration of the Encomibronzes.Today I have at last finished the report and I am sending it to you. There are 9 plates, of which the first 8 show all objects at 1:1, but the 9th plate at 2:3. The last would therefore have to be reduced by 1:3 to 1:3. I enclose the text and the plate captions. I hope that the report meets your expectations. With warm greetings and best regards to your honoured wife

Yours very devotedly
