Professor SCHAEFFER Member of the Institut 14, Turgot Street, The White Castle 78 ST-GERMAIN-en-LAYE

My dear Master,

I received your letter of 17 September during a brief stop at Saint-Germain, as I am currently at my excavation areas at Vix.

Entirely agreed that Mr Nicolardot should take part in your mission this year again.

I have no news from Professor Hundt.

I shall not return to Saint-Germain until after 6 Oct.

Wishing you a fruitful excavation campaign, I beg you to present my respectful homage to Madame Schaeffer, and to believe, my dear Master, in the assurance of my most devoted sentiments.
