Mr Prof. Dr. Cl.F.A. Schaeffer Collège de France 11, place M.-Berthelot P a r i s 5/France

Dear Professor Schaeffer

Please allow me to put a question to you. As you may already know, Herr Prof. Hundt and I are planning in the coming weeks to set out on a "Tour de France" to record Bronze Age solid-hilted daggers . Would it be possible, on this occasion, with your help, to make an approach regarding Vix in St. Germain? When shall we [illegible] come to Paris to inform you, if it were necessary for technical reasons, we would of course also come to Paris independently of the dagger studies to discuss Vix.

I myself have not seen Herr Prof. Hundt for several months; at present he is spending his last holiday days in Switzerland. Perhaps he has already, without my knowing, turned to you with the same question?

I am pleased to be able to tell you that recently Herr Prof. Hundt visited us and that all questions concerning known items or casting documentation were answered quickly and to the full satisfaction of all concerned.

I would be very grateful to you for a short reply.

P.S. [illegible]

With best regards, I remain yours
