Herrn Prof.Dr.C.F.A.Schaeffer La Chaumière 68 Fréland (H^t.-Rhin) France
Dear Prof. Schaeffer, Many thanks for your letter of 6.6. I am very glad to hear that Herr Lagarce enjoyed his visit to us. We had indeed wanted to make moulds of all the Enkomi bronzes, so that they would be documented should new signs of decay appear one day. Unfortunately we have had to postpone these moulding works, as a team from us had to travel to Stockholm to make copies for an exhibition of Viking Swedish gold which opens here shortly. This has set me back considerably in my workshop programme. Now I want to make sure that the small cart is ready for collection by the end of July in any case. In August I shall take my holiday and spend it, as always, in Switzerland. If it would be possible for you, I would be very glad of your visit on 29.(Monday) or 3o.(Tuesday) of the month of July. We now of course also have the report on the head finished, so you could take this with you too. We will gladly write you a technical report on the bronzes treated here (Herr Ankner and I). We can still discuss the date of delivery during your visit.
With warm greetings
Yours very sincerely
