Of course I was waiting for the return of Professor Hundt, who will tell me by telephone whether he considers that the statue could undergo another treatment without losing its patina. As soon as I have his opinion, I will write to you.
Since my return, a few days ago, I have not yet seen the officials of the archaeological service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs whom I had brought up to date by telephone on my return from my talks with Mr Stavron and with the Director General of the Ministry of Communications & Works on which the Department of Antiquities in Nicosia depends. - I will see them shortly.
I hope that your authorities will give me a reply concerning my memorandum, in which I set out the problem raised by the approach of Mr Karageorghis to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last summer, and his request for the interruption of excavations at Enkomi-Alasia while waiting for the publications to be entirely completed.
I would finally like to thank you, as well as Madam Nicolaou, for your welcome so hospitable at the Museum and in your so charming house at Rizocarpaso, from where you showed me the fine archaeological site on the neighbouring coast.
Please present to Madam Nicolaou, with the best regards from my wife, my very respectful homage, and believe, dear Mr Curator, in the expression of my cordially devoted sentiments.
