Mr J. Lapierre, Consul of France, Larnaca, Cyprus.
Dear Sir,
I take the liberty of recalling to you the offer sent to me by Mr Kyriaco Stylianou of Larnaca, concerning the sale of a group of bronze objects found at Enkomi before the present excavations. You kindly agreed to contact the seller to learn at what price he would part with this lot. He had offered it to Mr Dikaios for 50 pounds, but the latter replied at once that this price was far too high.
I shall return to Nicosia within a few days (c/o Department of Antiquities, Cyprus Museum), to complete my work. [handwritten: X] My architects are finishing the surveys of the numerous buildings uncovered and I think that before the end of the month I shall be able to bring the mission back to France via Beirut.
Please believe, dear Sir, in my distinguished and best sentiments.
Handwritten: X Please send me a word at the museum so that I know whether it is possible to make an attempt to acquire this group.
