… Homscourt, 12 March 1934.–

In fact, one is dealing with a dolomite of good quality, that is a natural carbonate of lime and magnesia covered with a light crust of copper carbonate.

Manganese0
Phosphorus0
Sulphur0,09
Copper carbonate1,86
Magnesia (MgO)19,45
Lime (CaO)30,00
Iron oxide (Fe2O3)0,90
Alumina (Al2O3)0,26
Silica (SiO2)1,50
Carbonic acid (CO2)46,04

Analysis:

This sample is presented in the form of a block of white colour, polished, covered with a little of copper carbonate.

VII.– LIMESTONE CALLED "PHOENICIAN".–

This ore is a slightly altered iron sulphide.

Arsenic0,025
Phosphoric anhydride (P2O5)0,093
Magnesia (MgO)traces
Iron oxide (FeO)3,34
Iron sulphate (SO4Fe)4,69
Iron sulphide (FeS2)84,35
Alumina (Al2O3)7,29
Silica (SiO2)0,20

The preceding analysis can be rendered by the following, which expresses the real composition of the sample:

Arsenic0,025
Sulphuric anhydride2,45
Total sulphur45,96
Phosphoric anhydride0,095
Copper oxide (CuO)traces
Magnesia (MgO)traces
Lime (CaO)0,30
Iron oxide (Fe2O3)58,71
Alumina (Al2O3)7,29
Silica (SiO2)0,20

We note the absence of tin, lead, nickel, of cobalt.
