My dear friend Lapierre, I thank you for your letter of the 17th and for your news. I am glad to learn that you have received the latest photographs and the plans I sent you. You tell me that you had to [illegible] because of the rain, and I hope this has not caused significant damage to the walls excavations.

As for the excavation house, I think we shall need to arrange for the repair of the roof of the common hall and the installation of two new windows. Please ask the contractor in Larnaca for an estimate for the works [illegible], and have it sent to me before the end of the month.

As for the area, it would be good to resume the soundings in the north-east sector, where we found the remains of the [illegible] of the Late Bronze. I leave it to you to choose the exact location, in agreement with Mr Dikaios.

As for the next campaign, I expect to be in Cyprus around 15 September. Until then, I would be grateful if you would prepare the inventory of the objects deposited in the museum and send me the list of available workmen.

I send you my most cordial regards, and see you soon.
