Some other discoveries have occurred of lesser importance. We still have a fortnight of research ahead of us. If they should hold any surprises for us I shall not fail to let you know.

May I ask you to be so kind as to ask Mr Lapierre to make representations to the Landrover car agency at Nicosia, which was to deliver to us by 15 Sept. a car intended for the excavations. It has not yet been supplied. As the car should be able to be run in before its transport to Syria for the excavations at Ras Shamra and its subsequent placing in the garage at Cyprus, the delivery should take place this week. I reserve the right to cancel it and to postpone the order until autumn 1964.
