Dear Mr Schaeffer,

I thank you for your letter of 23 July 1973. With regard to the statue of the god with the ingot I agree that good treatment be completed in Mainz. I have already written to my Ministry so that its export be authorised for treatment. Please confirm that all treatment costs will be paid by you.

Looking forward to seeing you again in October, please accept, dear Sir, the expression of my sentiments and those of my wife the most distinguished and our best wishes and regards for Mrs Schaeffer.
