Dear Professor Schaeffer,

On return from a trip to Europe I found at my desk your letter of 1st July and your offprint from Cyprus for the 'Stavrinos' Editor. Thank you very much and congratulations again for a most successful campaign in 1967. By the way, Professor Kontoleon found also skeletons of pigs in a Mycenaean deposit on the island of Naxos. He gave a preliminary report in Greek in the Memoirs of the Academy of Athens two years ago.

Handwritten: Mycenaean / Naxos

With regard to the problem which you raise in your letter you may recall that we discussed it some three years ago, and at that time I asked my predecessor about the fate of the documents but I am still waiting for an answer.

I shall be leaving Cyprus for about one month at the end of August. But we shall meet in Santorini I hope, before coming to Cyprus.

With my best wishes to you and Madame Schaeffer

Yours as ever,
