Dear Professor Schaeffer,

On return from a trip to Europe I found at my desk your letter of 1st July and your offprint from Syria for the 'Stasinos' Editor. Thank you very much and congratulations again for a most successful campaign in 1967. By the way, Professor Kontoleon found also skeletons of pigs in a Mycenaean deposit on the island of Naxos. He gave a preliminary report in Greek in the Memoirs of the Academy of Athens two years ago.

With regard to the problem which you raise in your letter you may recall that we discussed it some three years ago, and at that time I asked my predecessor about the fate of the documents but I am still waiting for an answer.

I shall be leaving Cyprus for about one month at the end of August. But we shall meet in Santorini, I hear, before coming to Cyprus.

With my best wishes to you and Madame Schaeffer,

Yours as ever,
