connect this civilisation with that of Asia Minor but before I can say anything certain I should like to visit that country and see the objects themselves.
I am sorry that you do not find a way of visiting us this year. Mr Megaw has instructed me to begin the excavations at Enkomi although the season is well advanced. But we shall do what the sky at Enkomi allows us. The weather is still fairly fine, but one never knows. I thank you most warmly for the indications that you were kind enough to put in your letter addressed to Mr Megaw: I shall certainly do my best to give satisfaction moreover on the questions you have raised.
Mr Coche worked here for more than ten days and I believe that he left satisfied with the results. I followed his work closely, which was very methodical. Many new interesting sherds have been taken out of the small bags and cleaned. There were, I believe, some fragments of the "close style" like those that Furumark found at Sinda.
Our journey has been very useful and above all it does us good to our health. Sylvie has learnt French and on her return to Cyprus she no longer understood Greek.
Once again I thank you for sending your work: I feel truly very privileged and honoured by this dispatch. I shall look after it as one looks after a treasure.
My respects to Madame Schaeffer and good memories from us all. very cordially yours PDikaios
