M.A.H.Megaw, Director of Antiquities Cyprus Nicosia

Dear Megaw,

I hope you have received my letters of June 22nd and 28th. I have since had the visit of my printer from the province(they are slightly cheaper than in Paris, especially when the summer lull is taken advantage of). I asked him a rough estimate for the cost of printing for Dikaios' report.

Assuming it conserves the present size and the edition would be as for my last books 1000, the cost would be approximately:

Texte composition and printing, appr.180 pagesFrs 252.000
supplément for foreign language, 20 pr.100 (?)150.000
paper for texte100.000
75 plates in phototypie, blocks (spécial price)318.512
75 '' printing and paper380.000
10 folders60.000
binding100.000
author correction approx.40.000
Total appr. Frs 1.300.000

This would correspond to approx. L 360 at the present rate of exchange. The supplement for printing in English is an average. The printer would make a trial before fixing his exact price.

I hope you can make your calculations and also decide the number of copies you intend to print. Perhaps these indications permit you also to decide if the printing in France would be economical compared with an english printer.

Yours sincerely
