Dear friend,

perhaps towards the end of the century. We are currently in the process of cleaning and [handwritten: and sorting] the pottery and I hope to be able to study at least that which comes from the different floors in order to be able to date them in a more secure way.

Please present my respects to Madame Schaeffer and receive, dear friend, my cordial regards.

Handwritten: I have spoken to the monks of St Barnabas. I think it is preferable for us to stay in the house we built near the site. There are two rooms, one for us and one for Pirontis. Forcer can stay in the room on the other side of the road, also built by us. We can clean it and arrange it so that it is comfortable. For the kitchen we can install a tent, or you can take your meals in the veranda. I myself will settle in the same house the next time I go to Enkomi. The installation at the monastery is good but not practical.
