… the Oeuvres department with Jean Marx, Poirier Yvon Chataigneau and Suzanne Borel, then the department of missions with Bussy. posted to Singapore, the war sent me back to the navy as a reserve officer and after Bermuda, Boulogne, Dunkirk Cherbourg, I joined Muselier on 1-7-40. You may remember me as head of the 1st bureau of the FNFL from 1940 to 1941 then Director of Personnel of the Merchant Marine (before Weitzel) from 1941 to 42. In 42 I was still as corvettard sent to Gabon, then returned in 43 to the disposal of Foreign Affairs in Algiers. I have been consul, 2nd class, since 1941 and 1st class since January 46. Nothing outstanding neither from above nor from below. the old ones have been passed over, and the new ones too even those who have only two or three years in Foreign Affairs, but the sky is fine, my wife is pretty, and I still love good books.
