… extension of the loan will suffice. Will you please confirm?

I wonder have you a note of the 3 items found missing from the Bronze Hoard on its return here? They are:

3759, 3760, 3762.

If they turn up it will be time enough if they come back with the sherds.

News from Enkomi. Dikaios reports that the antiflood works have on the whole worked well. There have been some subsidences of earth around the sides of his area but your big building has not suffered, except that a lintel left in situ in one of the openings of the facade has collapsed.

The holes for the trees have been dug and the planting is to be done this month.

Communiqué. Did you find what you had intended to enclose in your last letter?

Press-cuttings. I find that no reports of your lecture were published in the newspapers, and that the stenographer of the "Cyprus Review" did not get a sufficiently complete record to warrant its publication.

However Alasia remains very much in the public mind, as you may judge from the enclosed copy of the "Cyprus Mail" which appeared during the New Year festivities to raise money for the flood victims.

[handwritten: With all good wishes for 1950, and thanks for your greetings.]

Handwritten: Yours sincerely
