Dear Mr.Megaw,
I return to your letter of Aug.25th and confirm my cab to of August 26th as well as my air-letters of August 31st and September 1st.
I intended to take up now the different points mentioned in your letter of August 25th and to reply from Beyrouth. But having read your message again, I feel it refers so many important problems concerning both the publications as well as the excavations of Enkomi, that I feel it would be better we talk the matter over when I come to Nicosia early in November.
Perhaps now, as Dikaios when leaving Nicosia had to interrupt his study of the tablet found at Enkomi during this years excavations of your Department, can you reply to the question in my former letter: what other signs in addition to the Cypro-Minoan signs are inscribed on the tablet. I would be grateful for this information.
I have received the small axes sent on board S/S Corinthia and brought over by Ifrontin. Thank you very much. I hope you thank with the sincere and a copy of Enkomi-Alasia I for your Departmente library has safely reached Nicosia.
In addition to my three assistants M. Frizonin, Ferrer and Courtois, there shall be a fourth member to my this years expedition to Enkomi: Mr. Ahmad Fakhoury, member of the Beyrouth Institute and former member of the Ecole Française de Rome. He will have the opportunity to see all the major sites in the island and especially all antique theatres being a specialist on the matter and preparing a basic about roman theatres in the Near East.
My postal address to now c/o Institut Fr. d'Archéologie, B.P.1454 Beyrouth.
Yours sincerely,
