Dear Mr.Megaw,
I return to your letter of Aug.25th and confirm my cab le of August 28th as well as my air-letters of August 31st and September 1st.
I intended to take up now the differents points mentioned in your letter of August 25th and to reply from Beyrouth. But having read your message again, I feel it raises so many important problems concerning both the publications as well as the excavations of Enkomi, that I feel it would be better we talk the matter over, when I come to Nicosia early in November.
Perhaps now, as Dikaios when leaving Nicosia had to interrupt his study of the tablet found at Enkomi during this years excavations of your Departments excavations, can you reply to the question in my former letter: what other signs in addition to the Cypry-Aegean script are inscribed on the tablet. I would be grateful for this information.
I have received the small axes sent on board S/S Corinthia and brought over by Pironin.Thank you very much. I hope the trunck with the sherds and a copy of Enkomi-Alasia I for you Departments library has safely reached Nicosia.
In addition to my three assistants MM Pironin,Forrer and Courteois, there shall be a forth member to my this years expedition to Enkomi: Mr.Edmond Frézouls, member of the Beyrouth Institute and former member of the Ecole Française de Rome. He will use the opportunity to see all the major sites in the island and especially all antique theaters being a specialist on the matter and preparing a thesis about roman theaters in the Near East.
My postal address is now:c/o Institut Fr.d'Archéologie,B.P.1424 Beouth.
Yours sincerely
