To

Mr the Consul of France for Malta, Gozo and Cyprus, 48 Old Bakery Street, LA VALETTE, Malta.

The Financial Department of the Directorate General of Cultural Relations has just opened a credit for you of 600 Livres, intended for archaeological excavations and research in the island of Cyprus directed by Professor C.F.A. Schaeffer, Directeur de Recherches at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Conservateur des Musées de France.

I have the honour of asking you kindly to take the necessary steps so that this sum is paid into the Current Account of Professor Schaeffer at the Barclay's Bank in Famagusta pending his arrival in Cyprus.

I would also be grateful if you would let know Professor Schaeffer from when the funds in question will be held at his disposal at the Barclay's Bank, Famagusta. (Address of Prof. Schaeffer, c/o Museum of Nicosia, Cyprus).
