My dear friend,

tel RobertI thank you very much for your letter of 30 December. and I am very glad at the thought that you will be here soon. It will be a real pleasure to see you again and to see at last the activity archaeological resume its former life. I shall await your telegram which will give me the date of your departure etc. Yes I think that the Hotel in Famagusta is fairly comfortable and clean and that the food there is fairly good.

War Office | TransportI think that I shall be able to resume my excavations at Khirokitia but on a reduced scale: just to finish the work begun and so be able to finish the publication of the material. Moreover the preparation of the volume of Khirokitia is already advanced and there remains to me only to fill some gaps which, alas, are never lacking in a work of this kind.

6 ru | Scribe | [?Enchperso] I have already sent an article to the Illust. London News on the discovery of Ambelikou and the few other discoveries made during the war and I hope that the Editor will do it will publish it soon. He has already published an article on Septimius Severus! You have perhaps seen it.
