Monsieur le Consul de France Larnaca (Cyprus)

Monsieur le Consul,

By telegram dated 26 March last, the Directorate General of Cultural Relations had sent to Monsieur le Consul de France in Malta a credit of 2.750 Pounds intended for the excavations at Enkomi directed by myself. This sum was to be, according to an instruction by letter of 21 May, sent to you to be paid over to be placed at my disposal on my arrival on the island. I have the honour to inform you that I shall arrive in Nicosia by air from Ankara in the first days of September. I would be grateful if you would have the sum of 750 pounds transferred to the Barklays Bank in Nicosia with instructions to release it to me on my arrival. I shall indeed be without cash on coming from Turkey. I shall then come to see you at Larnaca to settle the balance unless you prefer to transfer the whole amount to Nicosia. Please accept, Monsieur le Consul, the expression of my very distinguished sentiments.
