Mr the Consul of France Larnaca (Island of Cyprus)

Dear Consul,

By telegram dated 26 March last, the Directorate General of Cultural Relations had opened a credit of 2.750 Pounds in favour of Mr the Consul of France at Malta, intended for the excavations at Enkomi directed by me. This sum was to be transmitted to you, according to an instruction by letter of 21 May, to be held at my disposal on my arrival on the island.

I have the honour to inform you that I shall arrive at Nicosia by air from Ankara in the first days of September. I would be grateful if you would have the sum of 750 pounds transferred to the Barklays Bank at Nicosia, with instruction to deliver it to me on my arrival. I shall indeed be without Cypriot money on coming from Turkey.

I shall then come to see you at Larnaca to settle the balance, unless you prefer to transfer the whole sum to Nicosia.

Please accept, Sir, the expression of my most distinguished sentiments.
