MISSION ARCHEOLOGIQUE FRANÇAISE

Damas, 10th Ocotober 1946.

Dear M.Mogabgab,

I hoped to say you good bye after the lecture in Nicosia, but you disappeared mistyriously and nobody has seen you going avay. So I like to say you 'merci' for your kind help in Famagousta during our labour troubles and the frd ndly reception you gave us there as representative of the Antiquities Mepartment.

I had forgottent to send you back the enclosed paper about the Compene sation laws for which I thank you also. I very much hope that it will be possible next year to continue the excavation of the Bronze Age town now discovered at Enkomi and to see you so again. Until than I wish you good helath and happiness.

I expect news form MM Prionin and Coche about the closing week of the excavation. No telegramme arrived yet, so the 'treasure' seems to avait our return next year.

I am in the 'forbidden' town for 48 hours on my way to Palestine for an inspection and hope not to been blown up by mines which it is now fashou nable to leave on the roads there.

Again with my best wishes and thanks
