Directorate General of Cultural Relations. 11 March 1946. -------- General Secretariat of Excavations --------

Dear Director,

With reference to our previous correspondence (my last letter letter dated November 20th, 1945), I beg to inform you that, owing to lack of adequate sea or air transport at present, it is unfortunately necessary to postpone the beginning of the first season of excavations at Enkomi of the Ras Shamra-Enkomi expedition, until autumn of this year.

I hope that the work of the expedition can then start without any change and with the same personnel as outlined in my letter of June 16th, 1945.

Yours sincerely,

Director of Research of the National Centre for Scientific Research.

Acting General Secretary of the Commission for Excavations.

Curator of the Museums of France.
