plated lead rosette (154 on Pl. XIV, 1), a gold nail (147 on Pl. XIV, 1) probably used for fastening the rosette onto a box (?) and a small bull's horn of gold sheet (159 on Pl. XIV, 1). A similar gold horn was found immediately outside the west doorway of the room, at the same level.
The destruction layer between this floor and the topmost floor (I) contained ample ceramic evidence. The sherds from this layer, which is 0,90 m. in thickness, i.e. between levels 11.75 and 12.65, were isolated into three groups according to depth. The majority of these sherds is in the Myceaean IIIC: 1-2 style with wavy lines (749, 748, 747 on Pl. XLVI), which is in agreement with the evidence of other rooms. Moreover a few fragments of bucchero wheel-made ware (749 h on Pl. XLVI, 4) and many fragments of Syro- Palestinian amphorae also occurred. The ceramic evidence between the level of floor I and the surface is similar (754, 750 on Pl. XLVII, 1 and 2).
The condition of floor I should be mentioned. Contrary to room X where floor I had a surface of lime marl, here the floor had no such surface.
