Engomi (cf. Schaeffer, Missions, Fig. 40, top-centre) attributed by the excavator to the twelfth-eleventh century B.C.
Apart from 707 floor IV yielded the lower part of a wheel-made bucchero juglet (180 on Pl.XXVII,3) which is at home with the LCIII decorated ware(2/(cf. Schaeffer, Missions, Fig. 40, 32 etc.). The only other pottery occuring on this floor is white slip II, which is represented by two small fragments of hemispherical bowls (181 on Pl. XXVII, 3).
Among the sherds found between this floor and the following one (III) two wares dominate, the decorated LCIII ware and wares in the Mycenean IIIC: I styles (cf. Pl. XXVII, 4,5) both of which are represented by equal numbers. In addition two examples of white plain ware II which is also a characteristic feature of the LCIII (1) occur.
The same general picture is given by the pottery from the next layers although on some of them, such as floor III, pottery is very scanty (Pl.XXVII, 1, 2).
