Main historical conclusions Schaeffer
1. The ashlar building with floor V was built by Achaean chiefs of the XIV. c. B. C. (Late Cypriote II = Chypriote Réc. III) during the great Mycenaean expansion noticible also at Ras Shamra during which probably Troy was destroyed and occupied. The traditional date of 1183 for the fall of Troy seems to be wrong. No Philistine pottery or related styles so far observed.
