Sir, During the The The excavations at Enk - Alasia having having now proceeded during 16th seasons by the French Arch. Exped., a considerable part of the ancient city has been excavated. This area is open to the Public under the guidance of a custodian and an entrance fee is charged.

It now seems to me that this site could is to be considered as an archaeological monument as in care of the Cyprus Ant. Dep. I would therefore suggest that the French Arch. Exped. should no longer be charged with half of the custodians yearly salary of as until now, I would think it fair but only for the duration of during its operation in the not yet excavated town area of, that is to say for about 2 months each a year.

I hope that this arrangement will be considered by you as satisfactory.

Yours sincerely
