Concerning the earth conditions in the rest of the trench it may be mentioned that they were similar to those in Λούρες I, and they have of course come about in connection with rain floods. In the room between 9 m and 17 m the earth is, about 1 m from the surface, hard and light. The lower parts are darker and looser; in this earth there lies embedded a burnt layer, c 40-60 cm above the floor, from metre 9 — 13. It has of course come down from above, during the time when the room was filled with the darker earth up to the upper floor at 9 m.
