Glyptic (A.I.2640)

Blurred photograph of a small oval seal or scarab with dark incised grooves, from Ayia Irini — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn3917. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A soft-focused print mounted on a pale card shows a single small object, rounded at the top and flatter along its lower edge. Its surface has dark grooves, one running diagonally across the centre and another along the upper left, against lighter worn patches. Fine detail is hard to make out, so the object's form is only partly clear.
