Sarcophagi, Cyprus

Description

A sarcophagus with a flat lid and small carved figures at two of its upper corners. The front is carved in relief: three walking figures on the left, a two-wheeled cart drawn by two animals in harness at the centre, and a figure leading the right-hand animal. Scrolling foliage fills the corner panels, and rows of ornamental mouldings run along the top and base.
