Pottery White Painted Wheel-made

Painted drawing of a pottery sherd with dark brown vertical strokes on a buff surface — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn3326. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A pottery sherd with a broad, roughly trapezoidal body, shown as a painted drawing on a cream card mount. The buff-ochre surface carries a series of dark brown vertical strokes of varying length, tapering at the ends and spread across the lower two-thirds. A pale band runs along the upper edge, which appears to be the rim.
