North Africa: buildings, people and bricks

Large crowd of people and animals in an open space before a ruined multi-storey arcaded building, North Africa — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn1723. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A large crowd of people in long robes, mixed with cattle and donkeys, fills a dusty open area. Behind them stand low mud-brick walls and houses, and above them rises a ruined, multi-storey building with rows of arches and broken upper walls. A number label is visible at the right edge.
