Limestone Cypro-Greek I (Cesn. Coll.)

Description

A carved stone head shown in right profile on a dark cylindrical base against a grey backdrop. The hair is combed in fine radiating grooves at the back, and a band of rounded leaf-like or bead-like forms with a central ridge runs over the top of the head and down behind the ear. The face has a long straight nose, a clearly drawn eye and a closed mouth, and the surface is pitted and slightly worn.
