Limestone Proto-Cypriote

Description

A carved limestone statue of a head and upper shoulders, photographed in strict profile facing left against a plain dark background. The head has a flat-topped, block-like hair mass at the back, an incised line across the forehead, a carved eye, a modelled ear and a rounded chin. The surface is weathered, with small pits and worn areas, and the chest is cut off at the bottom edge.
