Man restoring a large broken pithos-type jar on a wooden board in a workroom — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C08645. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A man in a dark coat crouches at left, leaning over a large rounded jar and working on it with a small tool. The jar is assembled from many cracked sherds, with pale filler in some gaps and horizontal ridges on its shoulder. It stands on a sand-covered wooden board with a rod propped against it, and pale walls and a metal pail are behind.
