Limestone head of a statue with a wide band across the top of the head and eyes closed. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06329. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A worked stone head seen from the front, with heavy-lidded eyes, a straight nose and a faint closed-mouth smile. A thick, ribbed band encircles the top of the head, and the surface is pitted and weathered. The neck end is broken off near the bottom of the frame, and the head is shown as a single object against a plain grey background.
