Limestone Neo-Cypriote, sculpture (K. 561)

Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06312. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A broken limestone head turned left in profile against a plain grey backdrop. A flat-topped cap-like shape with a raised band covers the crown, and the eye, straight nose and small mouth are clearly carved. The rough broken surface ends in a jagged neck, and the print is mounted on a card with handwritten notes.
