Terracotta Neo-Cypriote statue from Ayia Irini, standing with arms crossed over the chest — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05912. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A standing terracotta figure with arms folded across the chest and a beaded necklace hanging down. The head has a carved face and a pointed projection below the chin, and the lower body is a wide straight column with carved drapery folds at the waist. Join lines and cracks show it has been reassembled from fragments, and it stands on a plain base against a grey backdrop.
