Terracotta Minor Plastic 3, statuette (A.J.1564)

Terracotta statuette of a standing figure with a conical cap and arms at its sides, from Ayia Irini — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05627. Public domain (CC0).

Description

The figure has a tall conical cap, a broad face with closed eyes, a small upturned mouth, projecting ears and a short neck. Its arms are modelled at the sides and the cylindrical body widens to a flared base. Several cracks run across the body and the surface looks pale and slightly rough, shown against a plain background with a small label at lower left.
