Terracotta statue of a standing figure with a close-fitting cap, short skirt and bare feet, on a wooden base — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05435. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A terracotta statue of a standing figure stands on a rectangular wooden block against a pale draped cloth. The head wears a close-fitting cap, the face has a short beard and downcast eyes, and one raised arm and the other arm bent across the chest are clearly modelled. The figure wears a short skirt with incised lines and has bare legs and feet; the surface is cracked and shows restored breaks.
