Glyptic (A.J.J.A.S.72)

Cylinder seal in stone, photographed close up against a pale background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05218a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A cylindrical seal, dark and smooth in most areas, photographed close up against a pale card background. Its rounded top sits at the upper edge, and the lower end shows two shallow oval hollows; the left side is mottled with light patches. The engraved design on the curved side is hard to make out because the photograph is soft and high in contrast.
