Glyptic

Close-up photograph of a seal face with rows of wedge-shaped signs cut into it. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05208b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A close view of a seal face, shown as a rectangular band filled with incised signs. Rows of wedge-shaped marks, some V-shaped and some with horizontal strokes, cover most of the frame. A dark edge runs along the top, and deep shadows give each sign a raised, high-contrast look.
