Terracotta Minor Plastic 3 (A.I.1295)

Terracotta figurine of a standing figure with arms folded across the chest, from Ayia Irini — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04485. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A terracotta figurine of a standing figure with a rounded head, a fringe-like hairline and a simply modelled face. Its arms are bent and folded across the chest, and the body is a tall, slightly tapering cylinder that flares into a wide base. The pale, worn surface shows chips and cracks on the shoulders and upper body, and the piece stands alone against a plain grey background.
