Terracotta Minor Plastic 3 (A.J.1086)

Terracotta vessel in the form of a human head with a tall flared neck, from Ayia Irini — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04472. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A terracotta vessel modelled as a human head, with a long straight nose, a small mouth and a modelled ear on the right side. A broad conical cap rises from the head and narrows into a tall flared neck with a rounded rim. The plain cylindrical lower part is chipped at the ear and along the cap edge, and the object stands alone against a pale background.
