Terracotta figurine of a standing figure holding a round shield, Ayia Irini — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04429. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A hand-sized terracotta figurine stands upright on a plain cylindrical base, with a tall pointed head, a small ear-like lug and a pinched nose. One arm is bent across the body and the other extends forward, and a round disc shield with incised radiating lines and a central boss rests against the figure's side. The grey plain backdrop shows the figure on a mounted card with a pale border, and a small blue mark is visible at the base.
