Glyptic (A.I.2183)

Oval seal or gem with a faint carved design, shown as a photograph mounted on a card. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04412g. Public domain (CC0).

Description

An oval seal or gem with a convex face is shown as a photograph mounted on a pale card, with handwritten number labels below. The carved design fills the face and seems to show a small animal or figure with legs, but the lines are faint and blurred. The print is cracked and flaking along the left and lower edges.
