Oval engraved seal or gem from Ayia Irini, shown enlarged on a mounted card — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04412e. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A close view of an oval seal or gem with an engraved design, its face filling most of the frame against a grey background. The engraved lines appear as dark grooves forming curved and angled shapes, and the surface is speckled and worn. A pale blue-white border outlines the oval, and the print sits on a cream card with handwritten numbers below it.
